May 2008 / Installation of Pastor Watson as Organizing Pastor
In February of 2008, the Presbytery of Southern California of the OPC called Pastor Watson to be the Organizing Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (OPC). Pastor Watson accepted that call and was formally installed Organizing Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

In February of 2007, Redeemer Presbyterian Church (OPC) of Pearl City, Hawaii, was received as the newest mission work of the Presbytery of Southern California, while meeting as a Sunday afternoon Bible study under the teaching of the Rev. John Carter, an OPC Navy chaplain.
In May of 2007, Rev. Doug Watson and his wife, Sue, arrived to serve as stated pulpit supply and Interim Pastor to shepherd Redeemer until the session called an organizing pastor. Pastor Watson began teaching the Sunday evening Bible study on Sunday, May 19, 2007, and began the process of finding a suitable location for Lord's Day worship services.
